Nelson Mandela Quotes

Since the launch of The Children’s Mandela on the 9th November 2010, we have been sending out a quote a day on Nelson Mandela from the book for our followers, on both Twitter and on our Facebook page.

You are more than welcome to follow us on twitter under our user name @childrenmandela (note there is no “s” in childrenmandela due to name size restrictions on twitter) or subscribe to, or like, our (click this link->) Facebook page “The Children’s Mandela”, or which you can find by searching for The Children’s Mandela once you have logged in to your own Facebook account.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation has also announced that it will be sending out a quote a day, by Nelson Mandela, taken from their new book. These will be actual Nelson Mandela quotes, taken from speeches he has made during his lifetime, as opposed to the quotes from The Children’s Mandela, which are quotes by children between the ages of 6 and 12, on their impressions of Nelson Mandela according to their various views of him.

What is amusing about this book, is that the children say things that we as adults would and sometimes, could not say. The concept of the book is similar to the popular TV programs, called Kids say the darnedest things.

“A quote by former president Nelson Mandela will be released every day from Friday ahead of “Nelson Mandela International Day” on the 18th July, the Nelson Mandela Foundation has said.

The book of Nelson Mandela Quotes, titled “Nelson Mandela By Himself: The Authorised Quotations Book” will also be released in June.

United Nations Officially Recognises Nelson Mandela International Day

Not many folk know that the impact of Nelson Mandela on humanity has been so profound, that the United Nations General Assembly declared Nelson Mandela’s Birthday, the 18th July, as an official Nelson Mandela International Day, as far back as November 2009.

Below is an extract from the UN General Assembly Media Release.

Thank you Professor Jansen for a stunning article and display of the true values embodied by Nelson Mandela and the children of this country, values we hope will be carried forward by our future leaders.

The Children’s Mandela Coffee Table Book is for the whole family

The Children's Mandela

In marketing The Children’s Mandela, we often come across people who assume that it is a book meant for children. We cannot stress enough that The Children’s Mandela is a book for the whole family, starting with children of reading age, and all the way up to parents, and grand parents.

While the book is is a compilation of children’s impressions and thoughts of Nelson Mandela himself, it is intended for readers who will not only find amusement in the children’s impression but will also see the wisdom and innocence in their words, as well as the influence of thier own families and teachers on their perceptions.
